In 2005 at the age of 28, I was looking for an all-natural vegan diet and learned about and tried for the first time The McDougall Program for Maximum Weight Loss. I wasn’t very overweight, but I was amazed at how fast I lost weight and maintained it by incorporating, on occasion, recipes from the McDougall Quick and Easy Cookbook which follows the standard McDougall Program. A few years back, I completely drifted away from the McDougall Diet and had almost no drive to change my ways because it felt comfortable and I felt like I was happy. However, in 2023, at the age of 46, I was admitted to the hospital for pneumonia and had ballooned to 288 pounds at 6’3”. I realized that I had to sort some things out intrapersonally and find inspiration in my daily routine to ensure I lived a long and happy life. I have a 13-year-old daughter and want to be here for her as she matures into an adult. It was extremely challenging to regain control, but I found the motivation to adopt The McDougall Program for Maximum Weight Loss again on July 31, 2023. By November 5, 2023, I had lost 65 pounds.

I also walk at least 1-3 miles daily and do light weight-lifting at least 2 times weekly. My new lifestyle has drastically improved both my mental and physical health.
