Current antidepressant medications are so popular that there are times when over 20% of the women I see in my practice are taking them. Worldwide, the incidence of depression and many other mental disorders (including Alzheimer’s Disease and schizophrenia) correlates with consumption of the Western diet. The simple, cost-free, side-effect-free, highly effective approaches to relieving depression are sleep control, sunshine, diet, and exercise. Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia are prevented and treated with a low-fat diet, no-cholesterol and low-aluminum diet.
