It is all about the words we use.

The McDougall Diet is based on starches (corn, potatoes, rice, wheat, etc.) with the addition of fruits and vegetables. A “vegan diet” inadequately describes his recommendations. A vegan diet could be soda and chips or soy burgers with soy cheese and these combinations might fail to promote health and healing.
