Obesity is not your body’s natural state, and the high-calorie Western diet is the primary cause of this distortion. Thankfully, the solution is simple. Look around the world and you will be struck by the observation that populations of people who follow diets consisting mostly of starches are trim, youthful in appearance, and active throughout life. Add a little exercise to the McDougall Program and, if you’re presently overweight, you can expect about half a pound of weight loss daily. In addition, by following the McDougall Program, you can recover from serious diseases (type-2 diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, intestinal disorders, etc.) and prevent future troubles as well.
