Italian Pasta Marinara

1 Saute onions, mushrooms and garlic in the water for 10 minutes. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer over low heat 1 hour until sauce thickens. Do not cover.
2 About 15 minutes before serving, drop 1/2 to 1 pound of spaghetti noodles into 4 quarts boiling water. Cook until tender, about 10 minutes. Serve the sauce over the noodles.
