While it isn’t curable, the risk of complications can be greatly reduced with the McDougall Program. Type 2 diabetes is caused by the rich Western diet; medication is not required and is usually inadvisable. The McDougall Program cures this form of diabetes by correcting the malnutrition with a plant-food based diet and exercise.

I have a question regarding a video where Dr Macdougal appears. He gives the steps to going to nlm.nih.gov website. Could you forward them to me by email?

Twelve people in my immediate family all have type 2 diabetes 4 have already died with it. I understand that what you eat for breakfast sets your thermostat for the rest of the day. If this is true what is an example of what you should eat for breakfast that controls your random blood sugar after lunch and dinner? Thank you, Brenda

A big bowl of oatmeal with fresh fruit is a great option and one of our favorite breakfasts.
