Yesterday I felt quite good, and I have started a proper running programme again. I have been off running for so long I need to build it up gradually. I did 4km yesterday, at high tide, so soft sand! It was like running in glue! Then in the evening I went to aikido. Another woman was talking about diet in the changing room. She had tried low-carb, and Jenny Craig. I suggested she google Dr Mcdougal as I had lost a lot of weight with this way of eating and left it at that. She has a lot to lose....
However, this morning my hands are quite bad. It is quite cold, a frost this morning, and we have no heating until one of us gets up, braves the cold and lights the log burner. It was me this morning, and I am wrapped up with fingerless gloves on to keep my hands warm until the fire gets warmed up. Its roaring away now, so things will warm up soon, and maybe my hands will feel better then.
I have been thinking about what I ate yesterday. I eat early before aikido, and I made some gluten free flatbreads and had a couple with stewed apple (plain, no sugar, cinnamon and vanilla). The flatbreads were 1 cup G-F mix, 1 cup tapioca and 1/2 cup almond flour. They were the only things different, earlier in the week I had lentil flatbreads, which are just red lentils, but I didn't have them yesterday as I had none soaked. Also I like the flour ones better!!!! So I am wondering if its that, or if its just doing aikido, which can be hard on the hands.
obviously one doesn't actually need flatbread...or any bread come to that, but I do like it.....
So I'm not too sure what the plan is now. Im doing basic starch solution, but gluten free. I did sneak a little avocado earlier this week, and gluten free flours are not wholegrain in the way non gluten free flours can be, but no 'cheats' other than that. Maybe give it another week, and then if there is no improvement try MWL (not to lose weight, but as a easier elimination diet) or maybe even an elimination diet itself. Which I dont want to do.
