The McDougall Research & Education Foundation strives to educate the public on subjects useful to the individual and beneficial to the community. We are able to do this through the generous donations from people like you. Your charitable contributions funded a study on the dietary treatment of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) with the Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. The Neurology Department of the School of Medicine, headed by Dennis Bourdette, MD and under the supervision of Vijayshree Yadav, MD, enrolled patients in the McDougall Program for intervention with a low-fat, plant-based diet. This study was a single-blind, controlled trial using the latest MRI technologies and neurologic evaluations. Currently, we are actively pursuing a new research project.

Another important aspect of our Foundation is the education of 3rd and 4th year medical students and medical residents from the US and around the world on learning how to implement, and practice, diet-therapy.[1] Students attend our medical programs working directly with our medical director, Anthony Lim, MD, JD, and the McDougall Team in Santa Rosa, CA. Using scientific, evidence-based medicine in a residential setting, we work with students in developing and improving their abilities to effectively treat the common diseases affecting people all over the world. Your donation will help support this unique opportunity for future physicians to change the way medicine is practiced in the 21st century.
