I haven't been on the board for awhile. I started the MWL last november and lost the few pounds I was trying to lose. I was a vegan before finding McDougall but had gained weight from all the vegetable oil based salad dressings and desserts.
I am struggling with my weight right now and have about 6-8 pounds that I want to lose. I've gained 3 pounds in 3 weeks and it is not stopping.
Is Edamame allowed on the MWL program?
I tried the MWL a couple weeks ago but I didn't like some of the recipes and ended up bingeing on cereal and bread.
I was raw for two years and ate salads constantly and I feel like I will almost puke if I look at another salad.
Other than salads what is a typical MWL menu like for you? I would really like some input.
Thanks so much,
mini

edamame with the high fat I don't think would be on the plan.
here's my today menu
b-oatmeal w/blueberries
s-apple, black grapes
l-salad and lentil soup
d-rice and beans and salsa
I do like eating a medium salad for lunch but I always have soup with it. yesterday I had rice and canned asian veggies and some chili paste and soy sauce on it.

Endamame is a soybean. I buy it frozen and shelled. I like them steamed.
They are also sold roasted like nuts.
The nutritional info on the bag the I have is:
1/2 cup
Total fat 7
Saturated fat zero
Cholesterol zero
Sodium 10 mg
Fiber 4 g
Sugar 2g
Protein 12 g
Vitamin A 4%
Vitamin C 20%
Calcium 10%
Iron 20 %
In- The McDougall Program-12 days to dynamic health -on page 58 of the pb edition, he writes that soybeans are not allowed on the 12 day diet but are allowable occasionally afterward.
Hope this helps.

Since she was asking if it was on MWL it sounds like my advice was right on. Too high of fat.

Thanks for your replies. I was wondering because my bag says 3 grams of fat per 1/2 cup so that didn't sound too bad to me.
It makes sense that it wouldn't be on MWL approved list, thanks.
