In this 1991 interview, Dr. McDougall talks with one of his favorite guests, Henry Heimlich, MD, best known for the lifesaving “Heimlich maneuver,” which has been shown to be effective in saving drowning victims, asthma sufferers and cystic fibrosis patients. Heimlich, the president of the Heimlich Institute Foundation in Cincinnati, Ohio, discusses the history and evolution of the Heimlich Maneuver, as well as his foundation’s work with Lyme disease and “malariotherapy,” the practice of intentionally infecting a patient with malaria in order to treat another ailment.
