Fingers Crossed re Field Roast products

Postby Dougalling » Thu Oct 09, 2014 11:23 am

Hello

I have my fingers crossed that the Field Roast products are McDougall friendly. Does anyone know for sure ? I haven't seen them at my grocers yet but I have requested them.

Sorry, they are not. Safflower oil is the third ingredient after Vital wheat gluten and water.

There are McDougall compliant recipes for making sausages at home that people have posted on this website that you might want to try.

Those sausages contain oil. Most of the Field Roast products contain oil. I looked through all the products on their site, and the only oil-free products I saw are these quarter loaves: http://fieldroast.com/content/uploads/2 ... -3-091.pdf
You don't have to wait to be happy.

If you're thinking of using it for Thanksgiving, go for it. It's a feast day. I sometimes have Tofurkey myself on Thanksgiving. But other than that, as others have said, these things are not compliant. Just read the labels! :)

Trust me on this: One day you'll wake up and realize that it no longer feels like "being strict." It just feels GOOD. :)
