I went to the gym today! First time since I was in Nebraska. I just walked fast on the treadmill for an hour. I am signed up for a 5k on the 23rd of this month. So I am going to focus on running.
I had a little bit of SAD food yesterday, but I didn't have corn chips, pretzels, dips, salsa or many of the normal football fair. I did sample some of the other chili, but it didn't throw me into a complete relapse. I am going to stay off the scale until the 15th and whatever damage I did on Sunday I am not going to beat myself up over. I am okay with what I ate and proud of myself for not saying "F it". I even just drank water and no sodas or tea.
My clothes are fitting better. I am going to look at my old journal to see where I was six years ago, an old Facebook post came up this weekend where I did a before and after photo from August to February and I remember being real happy with the results. I am not sure if I am at the same weight now or not. I feel like I have a long way to go and really focusing on one day at a time.
I don't have many food challenges coming up. There might be something with the motorcycle riders on Saturday, but so far I have just drank tea and said I had already ate. It hasn't been an issue, but I am new and once they get to know me better I am sure someone will ask or say something. I did volunteer to work the grill in April. I have no issue with cooking meat and I am certainly not an ethical vegan. I will have to make sure I have a great breakfast and bring something to munch on as it will be over 5 hours.
I want to get back to posting here daily. I also have some Facebook groups I am attempting to post in on a regular basis, the accountability helps. I might have to let some of them go. I feel like I am spreading myself too thin (nice word) and I am also finding myself becoming bothered by some of the misinformation in some of the Facebook groups. I have had to backspace quite a few comments. There is all sorts of bad advice out there. I feel for those that try to explain the program and have to battle with those that want to do it there own way. I have been on both sides of this. I am so glad that Dr. McDougall has so much information available and is also willing to answer emails. I also agree with him when he says, "People want good news about their bad habits".
I will do better making posting here a top priority. I can always copy and paste stuff from here on Facebook.
I stocked up on lettuce and frozen vegetables. My meals for the near future are pretty much the same: big salad, big serving of steamed veggies, baseball size serving of brown rice casserole. I am putting the serving size in this description, the amount of brown rice I have been eating has greatly reduced. I am more or less doing the "Hasty MWL" plan. If I am still hungry at a meal, I will repeat the steamed veggies first and then another serving of brown rice. I also have pickled okra and carrot chips to snack on if needed. Today I put three pieces of okra in my salad.
