Craving chocolate in a bad way, making brownies (Mary mcdougalls) from a newsletter using low fat vegan choc cake mix & canned pumpkin... Will be done in 10 mins...CANT WAIT!

What did you think of those brownies? I tried them last year and didn't think they were worth it, but....

Karen,

I just use a little salt in a cup of warm water, then snort it up my nose. It works great!!  Dont know if that is what the hydrasense is or not, but it sounds like it might be similar.

When I am craving chocolate, it is worse if I make something "legal", it not only makes my cravings escalate but also I eat the whole "legal" whatever it is that I made. All by my lonesome. Usually I can get thru when I tell myself if I really want it tomorrow I can have it. So far so good. Remember, the chocolate will be there tomorrow if you have to have it.

Frozen- they didn't come out as great as I expected... Weird taste to them. Not terrible, but not a fan... Killed the choc craving though!

Jan- yes hydrasense is sea water you spray up your nose, really helps! Next time I have a choc craving I'm not gonna bother with cake or brownies, legal or not!

Today:

B- oats w/ blueberries & raspberries, coffee w/silk
L- brown rice w/corn,peas, black beans & salsa
S- apple
D- edit: pretzels & bread... Not really much appetite & lazy. This woe & laziness will catch up with me

Weigh in today... didn't... TOM really messes it up so waiting till Wednesday, exactly 1 month after I started!

Hi Karen

For a healthier alternative to brownies you can try mixing a little cocoa powder with fruit, like Jeff does in this recipe:

Or you can add some into frozen banana ice cream.

Thanks Boots!

I did terrible yesterday. I ate lunch out, and had a sesame ginger stirfry, I asked for it to be made with no oil, but I could tell it had some... then I got home and craved chips, so I broke down and ate a bunch... I feel awful....physically and emotionally...

back later..

Oooh, I'm so sorry to hear you went off the plan yesterday, but today's a new day, and you just keep right on going ON plan! Don't give yesterday a second thought!

Thank you Frozenveg, I am feeling a little better today, I have stayed on plan and havent had any coffee today....little too much bread though...

the past few weeks I have had high BP, around 130/90-140/95 and it worries me. I hadn't checked it in forever so I am not sure if this is a new thing or if it has gone up over hte past 6 months.... I have a lot of work stress lately, I haven't been sleeping well and I have had this awful cold for weeks, including a sinus infection.... I am hoping this is what is causing the high BP so it will reduce with sleep, getting better and hopefully work will be less stressful soon...
I did make a dr appointment, but my dr is somewhat of a pill pusher so I know she'll want me on meds asap. I am hoping with stopping coffee and getting more exercise and sleep, the BP goes down, and I hope she will be open to me trying to decrease it on my own...

So yes, day 1 no coffee! I have a headache but am not feeling as bad as I thought I would... I did have a green tea today too. I am cutting down on sodium, just less processed foods and cooking beans instead of buying canned.

Child is on me and trying to grab the keyboard... back later with food of the day update....

45 mins walking in

BP checked today; At 12:30: 144/96 & 12:40: 129/88 & at 5:15: 140/81 & 5:20: 135/84

Maybe if I quit coffee & comply to MWL my BP will drop... I think the extra weight doesn't help either...

Dr appt tomorrow with my pill pushing doc... See what she has to say... Don't want to go on meds... :(
