Thank you Boots & Kale!! :D

I was craving chocolate so I made banana ice cream with cocoa & splash of almond milk...yum!

Child is feeling much better, he slept lots today.

I think I am actually following more of the regular McD program, which is ok...I am way healthier, the weight will just come off a little slower... Staying away from fat & nuts pretty well. See how it goes....

Back tomorrow!

Hi Karen! I just read through your whole journal, and welcome!

You are making the right decision by getting rid of the wine and the chips. I did that when I was about 3 months into McDougalling, because my sister-in-law was coming for a visit and I wanted to shock and surprise her! She ended up not coming, but giving up the wine really made a big difference in the speed of my losses.

And the chips, crackers, crunchy things--that is my addiction, and something I had to go nearly cold turkey with. It can be a vicious cycle--the crunchy needs something liquid or sweet or dippy to go with it, the dippy things call out for a crunchy thing. I finally said NO FLOUR PRODUCTS, which limited my crunchy things to rice cakes, and then I limited the rice cakes to no salt added, which means that they just don't don't taste all that great. I will not overeat them!

But anyway, you sound as if you are doing great! I hope you and your family get over this cold you've got, real soon. At least, this way of eating really lends itself to nice warm comfort soups and things!

Thanks Frozenveg! You are right, I should just cut it all out. I will refrain from buying that stuff from now on. Tough, cause DH keeps it in the house but willpower will prevail... :)

Child on me... Back later!

Karen, I know what you are talking about, believe me, as my Dh loves his chips, ice cream, or whatever he wants, and so the kitchen can be a real minefield for me here. but after a long enough time, it is amazing how my mind will just not register the stuff as a good thing to want anymore.... even trips to walmart are getting easier since the cravings have lessen so much. the very checkout stand is loaded with all that candy and snackies that I used to love, but not any more!! thanks to McDougalling along the path of getting healthier...
I try to think of candy as constipation and gas and who needs that anymore? Not to mention more lard on my tummy hanging around!!
I have lost about 60 lbs and never thought I'd be in the 150s ever again. cured my NAFLD!! Feel great!! Wt loss is so good for the knees and back, ankle, that I know I will never start back to the SAD way of eating again.

Thank you Adrienne and Carollynne! I do agree with not really wanting the bad stuff, and I try to think of it as poison.... I think it's also habit...

Feeling a tad better today, still quite crappy though. I craved a bagel with cream cheese but didn't cave! :-)

B- soup
B2- oatmeal w/berries, 1/2 cup coffee w/silk
S- banana
L- chili beans w/ brown rice, lettuce, 1 tomato and salsa
D- 2 nuked potatoes w/ketchup ... not really hungry

Got 25 mins of walking in so far

WI this morning ... 158! so down 1 pound this week.. a little surprising...if I can lose 3 more by Monday, that will be 10 pounds in 4 weeks!

back later!
