I have a recipe for parmesan cheese substitute that I'd like to try, but it contains sesame seeds and I'm not sure if they are too high in fat for McD's plan or not.

Mistyshores, the regular plan definitely allows for nuts and seeds, but if you are working for weight loss you definitely want to watch the quantity used because they are high in fat. Some recipes that call for tahini (sesame seed paste) can have the fat cut back substantially by using a few drops of roasted sesame oil instead as it has a very strong flavour. I suspect your cheese recipe wouldn't permit that substitution.
