Anyone have an alternative Electrolyte recipe?

With this years virulent flu season and hospitals across the US have IV electrolyte bag shortage, does Dr McDougall have a recipe for making a home made Electrolyte recipe instead of using Gatorade like drinks. One that doesn't use sugar/salt???? Thanks

Salt and sugar are what make a rehydration drink. Electrolytes are the minerals used by the body for electrical transmission: sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, and chloride, with sodium being most significant. Research has shown that rehydration can be improved with a little salt and sugar. It seems to helps the water, "stick" in the body and not just flow back out. The WHO has a standard proportion used in disaster areas. It's easy to make your own and add a little lemon juice for flavor.
