quinoa question

Postby Adrienne » Thu Oct 02, 2008 2:30 pm

Hi Jeff

I eat a lot of quinoa (the white kind) and was wondering if the different colored varieties of quinoa (black, red) differed in nutritional value.

Thanks

Hi Adrienne,

I do not have an exact answer for you as I can not find any information comparing the different varieties.

However, my guess is that in general, they are most likely very similar with some minor differences between them. This is the same thing we see with different varieties of other foods, (ie., beans, apples, rice, corn, etc).
