While there is some truth to the acid/alkaline issue, it is not in the way it is presented here, and many of the foods and numbers are not accurate. The real acid issue is not the Ph of the food when you eat it, but the resulting ph of the food after digestion and what is called the PRAL or NRAL

If you go to pubmed and type in Potential Renal Acid Load and Net Renal Acid Load you will find some good studies on the issues.
