I have never seen any good data supporting either way so, it doesn't matter. Unlike the form found in food that requires gastric acid, supplements don't.
However, there may be some benefit to chewing the tablets before you swallow them even if they are not the chewable kind. There are also some interactions with medications that can impact B12.
