Thank you! We started this in February and are both off all cholesterol and b/p meds, and I am no longer taking metformin to control my blood sugar on this potato, rice and beans diet :D

WlydMoonWoman, you and your hubby look fantastic. Many congratulations on your success, you both look years younger. You are a true inspiration to many who are desperate to change their lives, if you can do it, they can too!

It's so easy! Anyone can do it! We are not perfect. I struggle with wanting to eat what everyone else is eating, but my end goal is to live longer so that I can love longer. I don't want to be sick and in pain anymore.

I have a strong visualization of myself at goal weight, smiling, dancing effortlessly in a flowy short white gauze dress wearing glitter eye shadow. It's a very specific image that I play in my head to keep me focused when I'm thinking about giving up. I will reach this goal soon and am going to post that picture when I get there :D I find this mental technique to be the most helpful part of this journey.

Our personal rule is that we only have McDougall foods at home...and to keep us both sane, we occasionally eat off plan outside the home and NEVER in a chain restaurant because they are everywhere. I'm convinced that chain restaurants scientifically create addictive meals. I'm a 90% McDougaller.
