Met all my goals

Postby Crider » Thu Jun 18, 2015 2:57 pm

I just got the results of my annual blood test and my total cholesterol was 149 mg/dl. My goal was to have anything below 150, a normal body weight and to get off my hypertension meds.

I began this way of eating officially in early December, 2013. I began with a body mass index of 27 and by June, 2014 my weight had normalized at about 22 and has stayed there ever since. I got off my hypertension meds in February, 2014 with the help of eating very low sodium.

My cholesterol was 160 in February, 2014. I got another blood test six months later, but it had risen to 169. This rise was probably in response to having hernia surgery a month prior. I waited until June of this year to have another test and the result means I have succeeded!

I feel great and am quite fit for an old guy of sixty-one!

Dr. McDougall is quite a guy, and I thank him for his career-long persistence. And thanks for all the folks on this forum. And thanks to Jeff Novick.

Congratulations Crider, that's awesome. And btw, I'm 65 and after two years of MacDougalling I feel like a spring chicken!
