Blondie's 6 month progress report

Postby blondie » Fri Aug 12, 2011 11:46 am

This week marks 6 months since I began following the McDougall plan, and I just happened to have lab work drawn this week and had my monthly weigh/measure at the gym. I'm so happy with the results, and hope that it will be an encouragement to others. Seriously effortless weight loss and health improvement!

A1C was 7.5, now 5.8
Total cholesterol was 224, now 184
HDL was 42, now 35
LDL was 156, now 115
Triglycerides was 132, now 184. (Not so happy with this but I think I read somewhere that it is normal for this number to go up as your body is metabolizing excess body fat?)

Weight loss = 50 lbs.
Inches lost:
Bust: 8"
Waist: 9"
Abdomen: 7.5"
Hips: 7"
Thighs: 3" each
Upper Arms: 3" each

CONGRATS!!! :) That's awesome!

Fruit can boost your triglycerides, too. Maybe cut back on that a bit, if you're eating more than 2 pieces a day. :)

Trust me on this: One day you'll wake up and realize that it no longer feels like "being strict." It just feels GOOD. :)

That may be my problem -- peaches, strawberries, blueberries have all been awesome this summer and I've been eating 3-4 servings every day.

Blondie, your progress is fantastic and think of how happy your body is-no longer carrying around 50 lb. The change in numbers is phenomenal. Your blood vessels are thanking you!!!! You are on a one way trip----to health!!!!

Thanks everyone! I have at least 100 lbs. to go, but it is not as intimidating as it used to be -- the first 50 came off so easily. This WOE is wonderful!

I am very impressed, way to go!! Stay with this Woe and it is so cool, when others notice, how much you have changed..... cool beans to that!
I have lost about 60 lbs and never thought I'd be in the 150s ever again. cured my NAFLD!! Feel great!! Wt loss is so good for the knees and back, ankle, that I know I will never start back to the SAD way of eating again.
