We are. I finally drove her over the edge, been working on her for a while. :unibrow: She told me she was going to do a new diet and I told her to look up what Dr. Esselstyn says about "heart healthy" olive oil and the whole endothelial damage thing... so she did her homework, and here she is. 8) She is a smart girl, it runs in the family. :unibrow:

I'm so happy she's doing this and so excited for the improvements she's seen so far!

Wonderful! Having family members follow this way of eating make family gatherings easier too. Your persistence has been rewarded Mrs. Doodlepunk!

Amy

Yes, we are sisters, and we will actually admit it.

I was aware of this diet for a long time, but didn't see myself being able or willing to "give up" the things I am now living happily without.

It was reading about endothelial damage that got me. That's where the rubber hits the road, all my sick obese patients have very unhappy endoteliums (endothelii?) LOL When I think about eating something, I say to myself, is that going to make my endothelium happy or sad? I really dig my endothelium. I don't want huge pus filled zits in it waiting to rupture. I want it pink and healthy and plaque free.

Don't thank me, thank Katydid, she posted a link to it once and now it's in my head. The song. It's in my head. It's a polka. I will NOT go away.
It IS the food! :unibrow:

Congrats on the success, so far. That is a great loss for a month.

My sister and I both eat this way too. Not always perfectly, but always attempting perfection. I actually got my parents eating this way too, and now they are not looking back. They started in June, and my mom has lost 40ish pounds.

I'm really happy for you both, because having family eating the same way makes it more fun.

Just two things.

I've started with a chiropractor to fix some issues I've had for many years, and I'm feeling improvement.

I had a 480 lb patient last week.

Nuff said.
