I hear you! My daughter just moved out (again) at 26 years old. I swear she was an infant, like, the day before yesterday.

Ha! I will be so sad when that day comes. Is she moving very far away?

She moved about 20 minutes away, and within days, she knew the roommate situation wasn't going to work for her, so sadly, now she's looking for another place. The one she is gonna go look at tomorrow is about 20 minutes away, too, but in another direction. Fortunately, we bought her a car for her graduation, so we'll still probably see a lot of her.

We had a female doctor that came up and treated babies with feeding problems. I was not a believer at first but when I saw the difference first hand I became a believer. She is no longer working at that hospital and moved to another in another state. You will love learning all that she teaches you. This may not be the doctor I knew but I am sure she is great !

It is absolutely amazing ... the stories I have heard will have me walk in there in awe ... luckily the osteopath lady is a, in the very best sense, simple and hands on lady and very pleasant and funny to be with. Even my teacher with 30 years experience in body work is still learning from her! :)
Since I live in Germany ... it's kind of unlikely that this is the same lady :)

Svenja wrote:Good Morning!

I have to report my weight loss for the last 3 weeks (didn't weigh in for 2 weekends).
I am down 11 lbs.

I am now in a maintaining phase for a bit. But I have still be fairly strickt to hold my weight.
I hope to loose another 2 kg (4 lbs) to the end of the year and to re-start my weight loss efforts again in early spring. If I can somewhat repeat my weight loss from this year (42 lbs) I am getting towards a healthier bodyweight :)
The last pounds I lost improved my flexibility and my 'body-feeling' so much, that I notice great changes when I treat patients in body therapy on the futon ... I am moving so much more smoothly. I love it!!!

I had an amazing seminar / training thing last weekend. It was on 'fascia as a sensory organ'. It was a fantastic group and at least two amazing things happened 1. I am invited to sit in (and possibly work with) a well know older lady who is an amazing osteopath, she is specialised on new born babies but does also still treat adults. People 'queue in waiting ling' to sit in her treatments, many are declined, because they can't take everyone who wants to come. But apparently she watched me treat people during the course and asked me if I want to 'work' with her. I am so excited and I will be there first time on the 27th. 2. The teacher of the training weekend and I will write a script for the course. It will be hard work for both of us but for me a great chance to get even more input and to be more precise, since we are putting it into writing.

I finally mad it to my summer break. I am off for two weeks now and I will be on two 4 day trips. One with a friend, starting on Monday and one by myself the week after. Too bad that the amazing weather is over :(
Wishing everyone a great weekend!

Svenja.

Congratulations on your fantastic progress this year Svenja. Best wishes for your year end goal, which is very reasonable. It’s very inspiring to hear how the weight loss has affected your ability to be more flexible and thus do better work. What a great honour for you to be asked to work with this expert teacher. Your hard work in all aspects of your life are beginning to pay off in very tangible ways. I’m so happy for you.

Enjoy your summer break!

0 for me this week, neither up nor down. :-D

I'm making a quinoa salad for a dinner get together tomorrow night at my son's request. What kinds of things do you put with the quinoa?

Amy, I'm so sorry I haven't replied before now. I hope your get together was wonderful and your quinoa salad was a hit. I don't really have a recipe, I just use whatever I have on hand when making my quinoa salads. Yesterday's had vidalia onion, cucumber, fresh tomato, yellow peppers, corn and black beans.

I'm going to my son's for a get together, a belated birthday gathering for him, Saturday. Their food is McDougall compliant, although not MWL. I plan to eat a small portion of his Alfredo (it's totally divine), and probably a blueberry bar or brownie. I'll have some of my own MWL food with me, just encase I feel I'm going to pig-out on their incredible fare.

A friend I hadn't seen in many years came to visit last Wednesday. She is in her eighties and plants a huge garden, organic, every year. She brought me a beautiful basket full of fresh picked cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers. Oh my, I'll be eating them for days, but I'm not complaining!

My breakfast including some of my friend's garden fare, baked sweet potato, corn and beans. (May repeat for lunch!):

Marilyn - thanks for sharing the zucchini/courgette chowder recipe - I love it! I've made it 3 times now, with at least half of that in the freezer. Opportunity for a 4th batch this weekend as we still have plenty of courgettes growing at our allotment!

Jobet - your food looks so delicious! Hope you have a super time at your son's birthday gathering!

Amy - hope your daughter had a lovely birthday! What did you have for the birthday meal? Looking at last week's weigh-in numbers, it seems you had another good week :-D

On the menu planner the past fortnight was my usual breakfast of porridge/oatmeal with fruit or rice with veggies.

Weekday lunches were rice with veggies, potatoes with veggies or and soup (sometimes with potatoes and veggies) or some leftovers from the evening before. The courgette chowder made many appearances!

For evening meals and/or weekend lunches we had some spicy baked tofu and McBailey's courgette bake and veggies; a cold dip 'n' salad meze-style meal with sweet potato dip, babaganoush (aubergine dip), tabbouleh and mixed salad (which did us for a couple of meals), a curry fest of chana masala (chick peas), okra and cabbage 'no oil fry', root veg curry and brown rice (which again did a couple of meals) or a simple meal like the lunches. (Please note I follow the McDougall regular not MWL program.)

We were planning to do a veg paella and a beetroot risotto, but had plenty of leftovers so they were dropped from the plan! McBailey has discovered that he loves tabbouleh so we've made it twice and are going to take it to a family gathering at the weekend :-D

Wishing everyone good health, Sue xx

1.9 pounds loss for me this week.

The weather here has shifted and is starting to cool. The mornings have been chilly, but the temperatures quickly rise to the mid-eighties during the day. I’ve made two batches of vegetable soup inspired by the one I had at a restaurant last Friday. They use V8 instead of broth, and it’s super yummy and filling. The ingredients are carrot, celery, corn, kidney beans, cabbage, diced tomatoes, and red potatoes. They had lima beans, but I used green beans. By using a combination of fresh, canned and frozen foods, it quickly comes together. Use the low sodium V8, because the regular stuff is insane.

Best to everyone!

6 pounds down this week! 296.2. Under 300 for the first time in 15 years. The lowest I've weighed in my adult life was 271, so that's my informal next goal (though I do mark every 5 pounds).

Looks like the group is off to another great week of results! Kudos!

Thanks for sharing that soup recipe, Lyndzie! It sounds delicious.
Big thumbs up, Idgie! You are really having some great success.
Sounds like you are really doing great, too, Jobet. :-D

I'm down 4 lbs this week, so it seems a week of strictly following Jeff's MWL 10-point checklist really pays off.

Meanwhile, in my ongoing medical situation - the whole body bone scan revealed several further areas of concern, diagnosis still unknown. I have been advised to see a Hematologist / Oncologist, potentially for a bone marrow biopsy. I'm pretty scared, but trying to stay positive and I've actually been feeling a little better. This group in particular and these boards generally are such a warm, supportive environment, which has been a real help and solace. I'm confident that I'm doing everything within my power to secure my health, and hoping for the best. I'll update as I know more. (Sorry if that is TMI for anyone)

Thanks again to all!

.6 loss the week. Basically I'm hovering around 141. Which has been the goal for this month - maintenance.

My habits seem like they were getting sloppy this week. I did not do evening meal prep twice this week. So my goal for next week is meal prep for work every day - have it mostly done in the evening.

Vic
11/1/19 Sloppy - 137.6/21.55
1/1/19 Still maintaining - 134.8/21.11
10/12/18 Maintenance wt - 136.4 BMI 21.36
5/6/18 151.8 lbs 23.8 - Normal. 4/8/18 154.6 lbs BMI 24.2 - Normal. 3/11/18 161 BMI 25.2 Overweight.
3 years staying on plan is the goal.

Thanks so much, Sue. :) Your meals sound so good.

Lyndzie the soup recipe sounds yummy. Our weather is cooling a bit too, so I'll be making lots of soup.

Woo Hoo, Idgie! That's quite an accomplishment. I'm so happy for you!

Awesome success, Mark! I pray you get good news from your medical tests.

Congrats on your loss, abit. (Edited after seeing Moonlights post below: Oops! My old eyes saw that as a -4. Maybe I'm prophetic and it will be next week!)

Good plan, Vic, and sounds like you're maintaining well.

Keep up the good work everyone!! ♥

No change this week. Though I think there really is a change for some reason my feet have been extremely bloated and hurting this week.
