I am up again this week, And worse than last week, 2.6 (+2.6) , I don't understand it. I have to find some kind of nuclear option. I'm not really changing my eating at all. I did have nooch mac and cheese the night before weigh in, but this shouldn't be going this way. Sorry to bring up the totals. Congratulations to all you losers.

lost this past week 1 lb
41 weeks on plan
total loss 58 lbs
5"5", age 61

total loss for October was 2.2 lbs - a very slow month.
but at least downward

Last week 119.5
Today 118
Total loss 15.5 lbs
Goal 105 (13 lbs to go)

I am still steadily losing although haven't been as diligent about eating my veggies. I much prefer my starches and may overdo on a few occasions, but am pleased that all my food choices are compliant. This is a tricky time of year when it comes to avoiding the junk!!

Hi All!

I'm - 1 from last week.

I'm really in a holding pattern for the past 5 weeks. I'm right were I was 5 weeks ago. I'm moving forward and not going to let a plateau discourage me. It happens. But I REALLY just want to lose .5 lbs. so I can say I've lost 25 lbs. Something about those "5's"

On the good news side my cholesterol is now a total of 123. :D

Finally down for a week, two and a half (-2.5). Still not completely at the top of my game, but at least it's not up again.

The note from Jeff in the November thread makes it look like he *only* wants people following MWLP, or the more restrictive Mary's Mini, to post weights there and not people using the standard McDougall/Starch Solution program. Is that right? If so, is there a reason for that, like a professional paper in the future using those stats?

I ask because I see not everyone in these weigh-in threads follow MWLP, even though this is the MWLP forum.

This is part of the confusion we see constatntly on the forums. The MWL weigh in group should really be for those following MWL. Of course, all are welcome to contribute but the weigh in group numbers in the MWL forum should be for those following MWL. Outside of the MWL forum we provide the Journal forum where anyone can document their journey with weight loss.

You are good! That's the comment that I made to my husband this morning when I first saw your post. You noticed that change in "the fine print" really quickly. I am definitely not that detail oriented. :-o
Jim has already answered your question (thank you). I will just add that nothing was indicated to me that the change was due to any sort of research, just a desire to have the thread focus on the MWL program. I am thinking of it more like being for everyone that is *trying* to eat MWL, because life happens and sometimes a piece of whole wheat oil-free pita is the only thing that will hit the spot.

I only mentioned that because Dr. McDougall frequently mentions that thread in talks lately, how people have lost X number of pounds each year using his program, etc. He never mentions that it's a very loose and unofficial compilation, that there are different numbers of people, even different people, week after week, and I don't even know if anyone who started in January is even still contributing to that thread in December or even February. He never mentions how many people reported *gains*, which there are ever week. It's kind of deceiving to tout the results on that thread as anything official for success story purposes.

When it was mentioned that Jeff is somehow now associated with that thread and there was the MWLP rule to follow, I just started wondering if they (Jeff & Dr. McD) wanted to make it a more official study, possibly worthy enough to put in a future publication.

I'm just being a nosy troublemaker, I guess. :twisted:
