on program 17 weeks
starting weight 285, today's weight 251, goal weight 140
total loss so far 34 lbs
total loss this week 3 lbs
last week I was discouraged, so I'm glad for making progress this week! :)

Do big plateaus happen on the Starch Solution over time?
Can I expect to continue to lose 1 to 2 lbs weekly on average?

ADDED NOTE: I watched the YouTube video called "Live Q&A Webinar with Dr. Doug Lisle" Sat morning. These questions were answered fully.

Congrats on your loss, Janeykhan. :)

I had a much smaller than anticipated loss of 2 pounds. I'm wondering if I'm retaining water due to it being that time of the month. :mad:

I'll take the loss though, just feeling discouraged because I've been so hungry every day and thought I'd lose closer to 4 pounds. (disclaimer that I have to eat a calorie restricted diet due to being on medicines that lower my metabolism)

Maybe next week is my week! :)

-1.4 for the week!

I'm glad I had this group for accountability. I had some stress going on this week and was not perfectly on plan. However I knew I would have to report in today, so I know I was a WAY better McDougaller than if I had not joined this group! So thank you for being here!

Good morning folks,

down 1 pound this week. Bit on the slow side but we've had visitor last weekend and this, which results in more going out for food and also involves copious amounts of tidying up which then results in getting food brought in rather than cooking. :shock: So the trend is still downwards. Once this weekend is over I can streamline my menus again and make use of the good weather we had recently to include lunch time walking again.

Up .4 this week. Have to a better job of preparing MWL foods so I don't go off track!

Sorry for the late weigh-in. I am up 2.8. Sheesh. This past 32 days have been plateau-stalled out, or up, as in this week. I've had 3 rounds of antibiotics and have been unable to exercise until yesterday. I am so disgusted with having more than a month of no progress.

My asthma is still off the chain, so I did well to get in 35 minutes on the treadmill yesterday and today. A far cry from the 100 minutes I was doing daily in previous months. Hope it doesn't take me too long to get back to that level. However I have not gone off plan. At least there's that.

Good to hear about the good week folks had!

Sorry I am late again with the results. We had a full day of barn chores that needed to get done and it was perfect with the cloudy cooler weather to get them all done.

33 lbs down in total
gained one lb from last week :-(
I had oil free Indian food yesterday including chapati, that seems to have done it
On a positive note, it's likely water weight as the food was delicious but salty.

Newbie here.

Down 3 lbs. this week.

I started MWL last Thursday. Odd day to start but, I was motivated. I'm hypothyroid and keep gaining weight. Wheat belly was not doing anything for me so my doctor put me on ETL and I could eat my foot I was so hungry and it was taking me to long to eat all of that food. He told me to do Mcdougall. So far so good, I'm not starving. I was afraid to try it for fear of CARBS and I bought the book in 2011. My doctor said "You have got to do something different. If XYZ hasn't worked, try something different. Doing the same thing and expecting a different result is insanity." OK, point taken! I'm McDougalling and eating those carbs. :D


The good news is, I'm down a bit in weight and I have a great big pimple in the middle of my forehead. The pimple is telling me something is changing! It's all good.
