Is that all you ate for the day? I would be starving. You need to at least get a lot more veg in there.

Yes. I got involved in a project and was not in the least bit hungry. Then, I finished my project, remembered it was weigh day and weighed to discover I had GAINED .3 lbs in the 5 days I've been in this group. I have consumed (not counting yesterday between 1450 and 1606 calories per day, I am morbidly obese and I GAINED. I am weighing everything because I want to be sure I get 1/2 veggies. Yesterday was an anomaly for me. I ate up the last of some barbecue seitan I already had made and, after eating the apple was very full. that's why I don't understand my weight gain. I'm not a patient person, but I am trying to not obsess over this. I'll never give up this WOE but I need to lose 120 pounds. It's discouraging when others post they've been eating this way for a year and lost 100 pounds. I've been eating this way for 18 months and have lost only 50 and am now stuck! I am too sedentary, so, that must be the problem, but, I thought if you ate less than your body needed to maintain, you lose, not gain!

Hi everyone... have been away from the group, back now. Explanation would be tedious. I will have mercy :D

This past month has been up one pound, down one, up two, down one ultimately no change for the month of May at all.

Looking to see what I have changed to see what I need to change. And thinking that as I approach my goal, perhaps the body loses more slowly?

So this week, down a pound or so.

Of course tomorrow, it could be up two. I am not kidding, that's how it's been!!

Hang in there, anyone going through a plateau.. I kept saying to myself, Well it is not moving AND the surest way to NOT get it moving is to get angry and EAT at it. Unfortunately, I still have to have that conversation in my mind to overcome that foolish desire, "it doesn't matter what I do anyway" Crazy thought, of course it matters what we do! That is how we got where we are right now!

Actually, everything matters...

Trying to come here weekly now and stay connected. I really do like being a part of this group, of McDougallers!

RockheadedMama,

Don't lose hope--many people gain in the beginning of this WOE because all the bulk increases the weight of food, etc, in your digestive tract. When I first started, I gained 2 lbs in a week and I was really discouraged, but the weight started coming off after that. Even going from more regular-plan foods to more MWL foods can cause weight gain, because of the extra bulk.
