Preexisting Conditions and Covid

Postby michaelswarm » Fri Sep 17, 2021 3:35 pm

Almost all (99%) covid deaths had pre-existing conditions.
Vast majority (95%) covid hospitalizations have pre-existing conditions.

Just came across this, which came out a couple of months ago.
Underlying Medical Conditions and Severe Illness Among 540,667 Adults Hospitalized With COVID-19, March 2020–March 2021
https://www.cdc.gov/pcd/issues/2021/21_0123.htm

“Among 4,899,447 hospitalized adults in PHD-SR, 540,667 (11.0%) were patients with COVID-19, of whom 94.9% had at least 1 underlying medical condition.”

Remarkable how well US medicine screens population for diseases. The entire population is almost completely covered by medical screening. Are there similar risk factors for cancer, for example? Do all cancer patients have similar pre-existing risk factors? I don’t think so.

Not saying if you don’t have pre-existing conditions you are bulletproof. But does seem to imply you won’t die, and very likely won’t even get serious covid.

Seems like we should do everything in our power to prevent and reverse chronic disease. What everyone seems to miss is these conditions are actually simple to prevent and reverse. They seem to be treated like a fact of nature rather than a choice.

Preventing Chronic Disease (PCD) is a peer-reviewed electronic journal established by the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. PCD provides an open exchange of information and knowledge among researchers, practitioners, policy makers, and others who strive to improve the health of the public through chronic disease prevention.
