What is it like for a typical type 2 diabetic in the first week of switching to something like the maximum weightloss program (intact whole grains and other starches, half the plate veggies/fruit, etc)? Are they miserable in those first 5-7 days, with uncharictaristically high blood sugar? Or is blood sugar in fact usually lower than normal? This is of course with still being on their diabetes medication at that point...
