Glad the sink is fixed. Hope someone really told the emergency guy off.
I am sure when you decide to eat the meal, it will be great.
No one asked me where I get my protien. BUT my son and his wife are on a "better" plan based on your blood type. There type should not eat meat, so that is good. They also are not supposed to eat baluga . Not sure if it is the caviar or the whale. I am pretty sure that was not a big item.
Oh, well. Time may show them. Who knows.
Hope you can sleep tonight since you slept alot today.

wow. Just...wow. Sorry it was such a bummer. So, did you manage to sleep over the night, after sleeping through the day? ;-)

hopefully, you and your wonderful Janette can put it together this evening.

It does always seem that emergencies happen at the worst possible time. Our plumbing also backed up over the holiday, but we were fortunate to be able to rent a snake. DH took care of the plumbing and then the rest of us got the food going. So sorry it turned out the way it did for you.

Hope your weekend goes better.

Murphy's Law always means that things happen at the worst possible time...like garbage disposals getting stopped up on holidays, etc.

The worse one i had was back when I had a 23 lb turkey about 20 years ago, got up early, prepared it and then put it in the oven. about 2 hours later I didn't smell anything...so I checked on it and the electric stove was cold. Ever try shoving a 23 lb turkey in the top oven? That's the one I used for all the other dishes. Well it got done but it was a merrygoround of cooking in the top oven! That was our Thanksgiving many years ago!

Got a new oven that week and a microwave to go in the empty space about 10 years later when I had to fix up the kitchen so I could sell the house. That empty hole didn't look that great! I put up a couple of shelves but that didn't cut it! :D hope you get to eat your dinner soon!

Hi. Your Thanksgiving Dinner sounds yummy. Sorry you had to wait for it and deal with the plumbing issues.

I really like your honesty. You lay it out, whatever it is and you deal with it. I think that will make all the difference in your success.

Hi Kirk

Hope you ended up able to sleep. Valerian is a good choice. Also, I found this out last summer: white willow bark has a soporific effect. Don't know if you can use it in large quantities such as valerian root, but when I took some WWbark for pain, it was like shaking off a sleeping pill the next morning. Just a thought. I like what you're planning to help with the diuretic needs. Dandelion's really good for your liver...you already knew that, though.

it's good having you back. I will pop over to letha's here in a few. I haven't posted much, but registered the first day.

Hi Kirk,

I'm glad you've found McDougalling and have embraced it, your meals sound really healthy and delicious. You are inspiring me to clean up some of my unhealthier habits. Sorry to hear about your Thanksgiving plumbing trials, and the cough. Hopefully by now you're better. All your sweet potato talk is giving me ideas for some meals...

I hope things work out well for Jeanette, it can be really stressful to be in that kind of position. We're all rooting for her.
