I have had gall stones for several years and have not had any issues with the gall stones until recently. About six weeks ago I had a gallbladder attack. Went to see my doctor to see what I should regarding the gallbladder attack. It was suggested that surgery would be a solution to the gallbladder issue. I have a doctor friend who told me that if I follow a low fat plant based diet that I could possibly avoid gallbladder surgery. Has anyone on this board had success of doing a low fat plant based diet and successfully avoided gallbladder surgery? My diet has not been the best for a couple years and I do need to change my diet. I have been eating too much meat and eating too much oil in my diet. I am willing to follow the McDougall program and was wondering if I follow the McDougall diet If it will help with avoiding gallbladder surgery. Looking forward to hearing from other people on their thoughts.
