Hi Raven; your food sounds so good! :)

f1jim, sksamboots, and Tina, thanks for visiting. Thanks for your enthusiasm. It means a lot to me. For years i have been cooking this way to an unappreciative audience, and i sometimes wonder if the food is any good or not... I know it is healthy though.

Hi Raven,
I like your selection of teas. I drink a lot of yogi teas, but I’ve not tried rose petal black tea or apple green bancha tea or blueberry tea or chocolate mint tea. I may have to add those to my wish list. Where do you buy them?

Letha, the health food store we usually go to is Whole Foods. I like to go by the teas and see what's new.

The black rose petal tea has caffeine.

The green bancha tea has caffeine too but no apple.

The blueberry tea is Celestial Seasonings.

The Chocolate Mint Truffle Tea is Mighty Mint and is very expensive, but also very good.

Another tea i just found is Tazo Spicy Ginger. Pretty good.

I like all my herb teas cold, so i make them first thing in the morning and refrigerate them.

Thanks Raven. I used to drink a lot of Tazo Zen tea but I never tried their spicy ginger. I often drink Yogi ginger and Yogi lemon ginger and I’ve been known to make my own ginger tea by just simmering some chopped ginger root. :)

mmm, all this talk of teas has me thinking it's time to start weaning off of coffee. :crybaby: The flavor of coffee is just yummy, even though the energy part of it isn't as important as it once was...I drink only one cup a day anymore...maybe it won't be such a difficult thing to lose it...*gulp* I do love my coffee...

sounds wonderful, that chocolate mint...mmm...

Hi bunsofaluminum, thanks for visiting. I sure find that the good herb teas keep me from wanting something with more calories a lot of times. So maybe it's worth the expense.

Tuesday

Postby raven » Wed Nov 04, 2009 7:59 am

I had another very busy day. I keep frozen stir-fry veggies In the freezer for such days. I always find that i eat more veggies if there is a variety on my plate, and then i want less starch... or high fat calorie dense food.

Even though i was very tired and late fixing supper, i took the time to cut up some raw veggies to eat, as well as my supper. I really notice a difference if i eat raw veggies as well as my main dish for lunch and supper... i am less hungry, and more content.

Tuesday's Meals:

green bancha tea

Breakfast: black eyed pea soup with carrot and celery and sweet potato
plum
Spicy Ginger tea

Snack: rice cakes, sassafras tea

Lunch: cucumber and rutabaga slices
leftover brown rice with Korean veggies - straw mushrooms, carrot, broccoli...
apple
green jasmine tea

Supper: cucumber and carrot strips
brown rice with packaged stir-fry veggies and bottled barbecue sauce
apple
Twig tea (no caffeine)
