Nice balance of flavours - I find a lot of Moroccan-style recipes are too sweet, but this one was not. Lovely aroma and appearance - plenty of admiring comments at work lunch table.
Makes a huge quantity - half the recipe yields 1200g (more than 2&1/2 lbs). I found a 400g serve was just right for me with some barley and greens.

I made this today, page 334. I used water as opposed to broth, doubled the spices, and needed some more water once the chickpeas and peas were added toward the end. I did NOT let it sit until the next day like the recipe says. Excuse me, I'm doing all this chopping and smelling it and I'm supposed to be patient and put it aside until tomorrow? Nah, don't think so! There's not much of it left, as my husband was extra hungry today. In keeping with tradition, I served it over (whole wheat) couscous.
The recipe calls for green olives. Not wanting to have the remainder of the jar needing precious space in the fridge or calling our names, I opted for buying just enough for the recipe from the deli. It worked out well, and was acceptably priced. I also didn't add any additional salt, as the olives supplied plenty.
Now I'm staring at some of the Asian noodle dishes.

I have this book but have not cooked out of it yet. It is competing with many other vegan cookbooks, tho now it looks like it's going to have to take the lead when I get home.
