Day 13

Down again :) Yay. not as far as I'd hoped to be down by this point in the week, but still, progress is progress. Yesterday and today I've been much better about really making myself meals instead of grabbing whatever the family is eating or making myself a snack of not so filling foods.

Day 15

Thanks for the support everyone. My 30 days on the plan started with the idea of being on MWL for all 30 days. But as I've gone along I've revived the plan, taking bits from MWL and bits from regular McDougall to suit my needs (like I sometimes eat sandwiches). I've found that I am much happier as much less likely to "cheat" with non-McDougall foods that way, so I think I will stick with this mix. It is also something that I can easily keep up after the 30 days which is important.

So today my plan is:

Breakfast: apple, cereal and soymilk
lunch: half sandwich (i piece bread) with hummus and zuccini, split pea soup
dinner: I don't know yet, family is coming over again, so I will probably eat what I can with them (i think probably corn, and potato salad) and then snack for the rest on things like rice pudding, raw veggies and fruit

You know I have the same plan at this point. I tend to be very much a perfectionist and if I say I am doing MWL and stray that will set me up for failure. So even though my meals are becoming much more MWL compliant I don't plan on labeling my food plan that way. I need more flexibility even if it is only in my head.

Looks like you are doing great.

Day 16

So my weight has been going up and down in the 129's, today it is 129.9, which is annoying. I would obviously rather see it drop than rise. I took the weekend off from exercise, so I am hoping that as I begin exercising again this week, my weight will drop. So this week's goal is the same as last week's unfortunatly, getting into the low 128s.

Breakfast: apple, cereal and soy milk
lunch: split pea soup and corn
dinner: rice with satueed veggies and lemon juice
snack: banana, carrots and hummus, sweet potato mash

So something new happened today, that I was not expecting. A member of my family was reheating meat in the microwave and I literally asked, before I knew what it was, "what is that smell?" It was disgusting. I have been mcdougalling for a few weeks, and I know most people say their tastes change as you change what you eat, but I had been vegetarian in the past and had never experienced the repulsion of the smell of meat I felt today. I have no problem with other people eating meat usually, the smell was just overpowering today and disgusting. Maybe it is because this time, I am not just not eating meat, I am also cutting way back on salt, sugar, aspartame and additives, and other things that I would imagine kill your tastebuds and sense of smell. I really hope it doesn't happen again, as I have no problem avoiding meat in the first place. I don't miss it at all. And I would imagine this reaction would make for some awkward social situations.

Day 18

It feels so good to finally update my ticker today! I'm 129.1 which means hopefully that I'm on my way down again.

Today:
Breakfast: Banana, cereal and soy milk
lunch: corn, carrots, apple
dinner: veggies and rice
snack: I keep forgetting that I have tons of frozen veggies, so if I remember today I will use those as a quick snack, or maybe with my rice in stead of bothering to cut fresh.

Day 22

Haven't lost any more weight. Still hovering in the 129's. I know it is my fault. I know what I need to do, its actually doing it that is the hard part. I'm dissapointed with my results, but I know that it is my doing. So I'm still trying to get the eating under control. The chips, candy, and other treats in the house are definatly not helping. I just have to learn to live with them and not eat them. I never eat out and I never buy bad things, but when they are in the house its part habit and part wanting them that is the reason I eat things I know I shouldnt. Even when I am full.

Hey hang in there. That's tough. I don't know if I could be on plan if there was candy and what not in my house. I would eat them that's for sure. Hope you can find a way to work around it. Keep on keepin on

Day 24

Broke into the 128's with a day of moderatly good eating (a few minor mishaps). Yay. So now I just have to keep it up. I may not make my goal of 5 pounds in 30 days, but may have a hope of making it to 4 lbs. Yay.

Breakfast: apple and oatmeal
lunch: lentil shepard's pie
dinner: sweet potato soup
snack: chick peas, banana

Day 26

Breakfast: Apple, oatmeal
lunch: oatmeal, corn, banana
snack: sweet potato soup
dinner: ?

I have a get together tonight with family and friends of the family, and I am not sure what is for dinner. I will probably eat something just before I go, and then eat what I can when I am there. I am going to the house of an awsome baker so we'll see how well I do avoiding dessert. I was dissapointed in my numbers again today, I went up again. I am at a loss as to what to do. I begin each day so committed and then by the end there is always something that derails me.
