Scientists from the School of Public Health at Imperial College in London, England, crunched the numbers and concluded that over one billion people worldwide are now obese, with an estimated 159 million children and adolescents being obese, and 879 million adults with the condition. The rate of obesity in children and adolescents in 2022 was four times what is was in 1990; it was double in women, and triple in men.
