This seems much more confusing, but.....

learning new things keeps the brain cells hopping, right? I liked everything being in one place on the old board, but I guess we'll get used to this. Eventually.

I liked the old board, too. This is my 1st post here and....

I am wondering if I registered my time zone correctly...... The "-8" was already there, so I left it alone. I am in the Eastern (USA) time zone -- however that translates into the code this board uses.

I agree, learning new things keeps the brain cells hopping -- and is very good for us! (Dr. McDougall is always finding new ways to help us, it seems! :D ) I have used similar boards and this format is not difficult -- just different from the old board.

In my opinion, it is easier because it categorizes posts under several main general topics so the topics we are looking for can be found quickly -- BUT -- it makes us work harder by making us jump from main general topic to main general topic to find ALL of the recent posts.

Anyway, the emoticons look like fun!

RE: S B Time Zone

Postby fig » Fri Oct 20, 2006 7:39 pm

Hi S B, I too am in EST and was not sure what time to set. I Googled GMT (Greenwich Mean Time), saw that EST is 4 hours behind Zulu time so I set my profile to -4 and this new website time matches my clocks! WooHoo

I am new to McDougalling, even though I have lurked over on the other board for a couple of years, I am thinking new beginnings...new board...new lifestyle!

Go to profile upper right corner, right click on profile, then to the bottom of the page where it says Avatar and the pictures will pop up. :)

It took me four or five tries to get it right, I am in California -7. Once you hit submit it wil go to your post and the time changed till I got it right.

My first post here, so bear with me.

I might be wrong but I have a friend who lives in London...GMT we are 5 hours apart when we chat in real time online. And they also have day light savings time in England. I was surprised. 8)
