High Potassium Levels

Postby cbritten101 » Wed May 20, 2020 6:16 pm

I'm hoping someone here can help me, since eating this way (about 5 years), I have had increasing blood potassium levels, to the point that today my doctor called me in a panic, wanting me to take potassium binders and get an EKG tomorrow. My kidney values are fine, I am not dehydrated, the sample was not hemolyzed, it's an ongoing problem. She thinks I'm getting too much potassium in my diet.

Has anyone else had this problem? What should I do? I can't envision stopping this way of eating, I love it!
TIA

Hello. Have you been able to lower your blood potassium? If so, did you do this by reducing the amount of potassium you consume, take a potassium binder, or???
I'm sorry I don't have any tips to offer as I found out today that I have slightly elevated blood potassium. I'm rather bummed about this and have only been on a WFPB diet for 2 1/2 months. I am open to modifying what I eat and could use some tips as well.
