Running late so had them for dinner. Fantastic flavour. Piled a large helping of steamed field mushrooms over them Simply heaven. Thank you for the recipe.

Yes, these are great--thank you! I sprinkled buckwheat groats on top while first side was cooking for a little crunch. Yum.

These were great! Have you tried to add baking powder or soda?

Pammo ~ I have not tried adding baking soda or baking powder, I am fine without, but be my guest...let us know what happens if you try :)

I have also made this recipe with soaked buckwheat groats instead of the oats.

I love topping with a good quality apple butter.

Fruity Girl,

Just want to say thanks again--I am about to eat some leftovers of these topped with thawed blueberries smashed on the top. They are just marvelous. Filling, easy to make, and easy to digest. I like the idea of the buckwheat groat variant--as you might have guessed from my previous comment, I am a fan of buckwheat in general, and buckwheat pancakes too. :) Really appreciate you posting this recipe. Have a great day.

meant to ask--how long do you soak the buckwheat groats? Overnight?

thanks,

Moonwatcher~ You are so very welcome!! And yes I would usually soak the groats overnight, but have soaked as little as 4 hours in a pinch, being sure to strain and rinse well before using. Enjoy!

I have Saturday off and am going to make these for my wife and son. He enjoys pancakes and he enjoys oatmeal. Now he gets to enjoy them together! Will reply and let you know how they went over.

Made this simple recipe this morning. I enjoyed them, my son wanted "plain" pancakes, which I wasn't going to make. Not sure why he didn't want them, maybe the banana, which seems odd since he likes bananas. The wife had a few but no real review from her. Nonetheless, they looked, smelled and tasted good. Thanks!
