Pale skin upon standing

Postby garbus » Tue Jan 08, 2019 3:11 pm

Yesterday and the day before I had nothing except for a french vanilla cappucino and two Dr McDougall Black Bean and Lime soups. In the evening, about an hour after I took my thyroid pill and my antipsychotic, maybe a bit later than that, I got up from lying down, went to the bathroom, and saw that my face was pale, as well as my arms, chest, and stomach. Do I need to eat something else along with the soup? Is this a nutritional issue? Or could this be due to my medication?

Hi again. Is that all you ate all day? That doesn’t sound like enough food.

That's all I've been eating for the past three days, except today I also had a banana.

Those soups only have 350 calories. You need some food. You will feel better.

Are there any prepared meals I can order that have enough calories?

Here is something you can do: get microwaveable rice in a container (read the label, many have oil). Nuke that. Then get a bag of frozen steam in bag veggies. Nuke that, too. Combine and eat.

Or, get a russet potato. Nuke for 8-10 minutes. Eat one while you microwave another. Stop with salsa, or simply enjoy with salt and pepper. (I like to eat a “taco potato” with salsa and black beans.)

If you want, you can eat a potato with the veggies. Or a potato with the soup.

Jeff has some ingenious meals that require 10 minutes and 5 ingredients, called SNAP meals. When you get a little more comfortable in the kitchen, you can try those.

Thanks for the recommendations.

But how many calories do I need to eat per meal?

Eat when hungry until comfortably full. Repeat as needed.

I know I mentioned calories in my first post, but it was just to illustrate that those soups aren’t very big, and you probably just need more food. Don’t worry about numbers. Just eat the right things and it works.

Hi Garbus. Welcome to the forums.

After reading through your previous posts, it seems to me that you are very confused about the program and how it works. You are worried about things that you simply don't have to worry about when following the program correctly (getting enough protein, fiber intake, too much sugar, etc.). My recommendation is to go through this page in the "How to Begin" forum:

viewtopic.php?f=14&t=58221

Read through every single link in that page, thoroughly. Read them multiple times if that helps you. If you have any other questions after reading through them, then ask, and we will be happy to help!

Another piece of advice: don't go to other forums/blogs/websites for nutrition info. You will just become more confused. Wholeheartedly commit to this program for a few months and see what happens. Good luck!
