Dr. McDougall does not recommend taking supplements except for a specific B vitamin if you have been strict on his program for 3 years or are pregnant.

See
http://drmcdougall.com/med_hot_supplements.html

He also has a page specifically dealing with oils / EPA/DHA that may help you, see

Chimichanga,
If you go to the website of vegan registered dietician Jack Norris, you'll find a lot of good information about staying healthy on a vegan diet in general and about Omega 3s as well:

Thanks Birdy

Veganhealth website recommends

◦1.DHA Supplement -
◦Under 60 years old: 200 - 300 mg every 2-3 days
◦60+ years old: 200 - 300 mg per day

Those of you who have been taking DHA supplement, it looks like you would need 200-300 mg every 2-3 days if under 60. Does that make sense?

There is quite variance between different websites?

Some say you need 250-300 mg per day
