queasy after taking D3

Postby KatherineUK » Mon Feb 24, 2020 2:31 pm

Finally decided I was going to take vitamin D this winter and felt fine for a couple of weeks but then found I felt slightly queasy a lot of the time. The strength is 2200 IU Solgar brand. Could be a coincidence?

Any thoughts?

Thanks very much

Katherine

Are these tablets or gel caps? Can they be broken up or cut into pieces?

If you think they're making you queasy, they probably are.
Starch. It's what's for dinner.

Hi - thanks - they are vegetable capsules. Perhaps I'll try alternate days...

Ours says to take it with food. So far it has not upset either of our stomachs. Are you doing that?

I always take supplements with food. (the other one I take is B12 about 2-3 times a week)

Hi Katherine,

Have you tried not taking the D3 to see if the queasy feeling goes away? I have found several articles that suggest Vitamin D supplements can cause stomach issues.

FWIW, I take a 1000 IU tablet every day before breakfast and it doesn't bother me.
