When I do savory oats, I add some garlic and ginger and cilantro and it's almost like a rice dish.

Kinda early for my evening check in but ......I am totally
satisfied. Plan to have a green salad later. Just lettuce, garden tomatoes cucumber and onions.
I don't use salad dressing. Like to keep it simple.

I am enjoying this way of eating. Have not had any junk food attack since the one time
last week ....the almond milk with chocolate syrup.

I have got this! There is plenty of food I am never hungry. Wished my family ate this way.

These are my regular food choices.

Steel cut oats. With fruit or vegetables
Coleslaw, potatoes with bean/ vegetables/mushroom gravy.
Vegetable stew/ soup with brown rice/pasta.
Tossed salad/ raw or cooked vegetables.
Snack on fruits.
No reason for boredom......will change fruits and vegetables
Love potatoes and oatmeal....like to have the gravy daily because I know mushrooms. .
Are healthy and want to make sure I eat beans everyday. I hope canned is OK
from dryed will take more planning and work!

Looking forward to Fridays weigh in. We can fo this! :)

Thank you for the suggestion on adding spices to the vegetable /oats,
I have one recipe I like for savory oats that I found in one of my WFPB cookbooks.
It is delicious but for breakfast I want it to be simple/quick, I like your idea of just adding spices,
Will try that. I can experiment and it will give some variety of flavors.

Tonight I need to make a batch of steel cut oats. I was using 2 cups raw
with 6 cups liquid. I am going to increase the batch size to 3 cups raw ......which would mean
9 liquid in my instant pot. With the 2 cups raw.....it lasted about 3.5 days. Going to see if I can
make it go for 5 days. It is so much easier to have my breakfast ready to go.
Still plan to cook my oats using some almond milk. I will reduce the amount because I know
its not compliant but I really enjoy the oats cooked with it.
If I lose weight this week.....I won't change. If not I will! :)

Good morning! I did post last evening....not sure why it didn't show up. I Iike checking in morning and evening to keep me on track. :)
This forum is so helpful. I have tried keeping a journal in the past but never
stuck with it.
The first week I was careful what I ate because I did not want to write down
junk food. Now the second week I seem to be on autopilot. I know what I plan
to eat ahead of time.......all compliant. If I get hungry...I just eat more of it
or the next meal earlier.
Its a great feeling to be in control , know I am losing weight and do not have
cravings.
Today I walked my 3 miles. Had nectarine first than steel cut oats with fruit medley.

Enjoying it so much. Looking forward to Fridays weigh in.

We have the plan for success......just have to stay with it!

with rice.

The final bowl I added some additional vegetables. I had riced cauliflower and sweet potatoes
It was frozen.....so very easy to add to the soup. Plan to have alot of frozen vegetables on hand
so I can keep increasing veggies.

Good morning. I started MWL last year because I wanted to lose more weight, and it works! It does take time to adopt a new routine, figure out what works best for you, get used to forgetting about counting calories, etc. The key really is to eat till you are full. If you are hungry, eat something. I found that always starting a meal with a salad or some soup helps. I am hungriest in the morning, probably because my dinner meal is smaller and I don't like to eat later in the evening. I did join the MWL group for accountability; very helpful. Good luck! keep doing what you are doing. (don't forget some dark leafy greens.) Marsha

Thanks Marsha for the encouragement. Your right.....I do need to eat
more greens. I have been having a salad every night with mixed greens but it
would be easy to add steamed spinach or kale to my daily routine.
Trying to keep this simple. I have been making hearty soups or stews twice a week. Always with beans or lentils.
I have oats for breakfast everymorning vary the fruit....had peas one time. I have to admit I prefer.
my fruit. Been eating coleslaw most days. Tossed green salad everyday and then the potatoe
Bean/vegetable gravy.
Slipped up today.....actually it was intentional... a couple crackers with my lentil soip,
I did drink almond chocolate milk.....just had a craving.

Seems like I eat alot of food, I am never hungry,
One more day until weigh in. Will see if I need to tweak what i am doing.

Had some coleslaw this morning. Mid morning snack.
Later I had two bowls potatoes with mushroom/ bean/ broccoli/ onion gravy .
That was spaced out..... one for lunch the other dinner.

Also caved I to very that chocolate syrup with almond milk.
Mad at my self for doing that yesterday and again today.
Would toss out the syrup but my husband uses it.
Maybe I should toss all almond milk,,.....I hate to do that. Seems wasteful.
Will considerate it! : :(

Good habits = good results. Lol!

Have a healthy day ...will check back this evening. Joanne

If i can lose just 1 pound this week I will be down 5 pounds in 3 weeks. Will be thrilled.

That will take care of the shutdown weight gain......then I can begin the tackling

Ok .....Sunday morning.

Walked 3 miles then ate nectarine and steel cut oats with blueberries.
When I batched cooked the oatmeal in my instant pot I reduced the amt of almond milk.
My recipe is 2 cups oats with 4 cups water 2 cups almond milk.
This morning I reduced the liquid to 5 cups water 1 cup almomd milk.

Plan to keep reducing the amount of almond milk.
I have thrown away the raisins, Maybe if I eliminate these 2 from my diet
It will help with eliminating sweet cravings.

It wasn't as creamy ....but still fine. I am satisfied. Better to simplify food
and be satisfied then eating hyper-palatable food which keeps me wanting more.

After breakfast I cooked potatoes and carrots then
topped it with bean / mushroom / spinach/ brocolli / onion gravy
Added hummus for extra flavor.
Ended up having 2 large bowls
Apple
Had family members visit..I had no interest in going off my diet with
any noncompliant food. Normally I would have added a tossed green salad
but wasn't hungry after all the potatoes.

It feels good to have control.
