Thank you ,,,Jan

This morning started with a 2.5 mile walk.
Then steel cut oats with applesauce and blueberries

I was hungry a short while later.....had a small amount of lentil soup
leftover ..about a 1/2 cup. It filled that hunger spot nicely.!

When I use to journal my food diary.....I always thought if someone who has
a SAD diet read this....they would think the food I was eating seemed strange.

Love now that we're all following the same guidelines. We're supporting
each other.......part of a likeminded group! :)

I cooked potatoes and carrots. Its all ready to go with the veg/bean/mushroom gravy,
I made it yesterday with both brocolli and spinach. Green gravy...... oh my! Its healthy
and I am getting in my greens.

I have not been keeping up with my journal.
My 5 year old grrzndson has been staying with me......unable to stay compliant
with my diet and exercise routine. Also met a friend for lunch. :-(
It was the first time i have been in a restaurant in 4 months.

No weight loss this week.....hope to do better next week.
Can't let this derail me. Don't like to have to admit I didn't stick to the plan. Ugh,!

weigh in today lost a pound!
So that makes five pounds for the month of July.

First two weeks I was compliant.......the 3rd week I was not.
My grandson came to visit. I went out to lunch and I visited family for a couple of days.
I now am back on track.....have plenty of food in the frig. Did some batch cooking so
I am prepared. Need those potatoes!

I also have been walking 4 miles per day ...the last 3 days. Wanted a good report
for my weigh in this week. :-) Hope everyone is doing well. Joanne

Ok....its Sunday evening. Ready to start another week. I was down 5 pounds for the month of July. So very happy with the results.
I have been doing well with the exercise...trying to walk 3 to 4 miles each morning.
I would prefer to do 4.....which takes about an hour. I have plantar fascitis so I have to becareful
to not overdue.
I know batch cooking is critical for this lifestyle. I have been eating steel cut oats the entire month. I use my instant pot ...cooking 2cups ...yields 4 cups. Its enough for 4 or 5 days.
I originally used 4 cups water 2 cups almond milk. I have weined myself from using any almond milk. This week I may add 2 apples along with the oats. See if I like that. I have been having a nectarine before the cooked oats. Always add fresh or frozen fruit to the cooked oats.

Today i made a simple soup. Just added lots of cut up vegetables to water.
One can diced tomatoes ( salt added) :( some spices and brown rice, Going to start making this a staple in my diet along with the potatoes with bean/ mushroom/ veg gravy. Which I include brocolli.
Then its coleslaw or green tossed salad for dinner. I enjoy all these foods.....if there prepared ahead.....i won't find myself grabbing a spoon and the peanut butter jar. :( Good luck with August. Excited to take the next 5 pounds off. Joanne

This morning I walked 4 miles.
Had nectarine then steel cut oats with applesauce.
Bowl veggie brown rice soup
Potatoes and brocolli...with mushroom/ bean/ onion gravy.
2 more nectarines with blueberries.
2 Mary gone crackers.

I think that is everything. This is why I like to post twice a day.
I keep better track of what eat.

I just remembered I did add chocolate (kind brand) granola to my oatmeal and applesauce.
That was a mistake.. I ate more later,,,it was calling me.
The ingredients were had to digest......didnt feel great after eating. Its that pleasure trap.
Can't have that stuff in my house. I think I have been slacking off....become to confident since
I lost weight even though I wasn't 100% compliant for the last week in July.
Want to stick to the program. Its one thing if I am away from home but when I am home
I should be close to 100%. :) Joanne

Aug 3rd.....today's weigh in I was unchanged.
Disappointed.
I hoped I would lose a pound.....

I think I had become too confident,,,,,, thinking I could get away with
Some noncompliant foods.

Getting back on track.
Must record what I eat in this forum.......truthfully whenever I have
eaten nonconpliant foods ...I don't record that day. I am too embarrassed
to admit....the junk I have put in my body,
So I know I need accountability...... but tried to side step it.

This morning I ate a nectarine
steelcut oats with apple wth 1/4 cut almomd milk
Coleslaw

Aug 14th. So happy to see I lost 1 pound this week.
That makes a total of 6 since I started in July.

I have been
able to increase my walking time to an hour or more in the morning.

My foot has been better so that has been great.

Now that I am down 6 pounds......it gives me motivation to do more exercise
and reclaim my shape! Lol!

My diet has been pretty consistent.,,,,,,a few noncompliant foods slip in but
I am satisfied that I am much better since starting MWL.

Hope everyone is doing well. Joanne- elon.

This morning I walked 5 miles. I am feeling stronger and my foot
(Planter Fascitis) is so much better. Earlier in the Spring.....2 miles was enough.
I feel stronger and healthier. Need to add some more exercises...such as pilates, yoga and light weights.
I have to figure out how to add more to my routine. I am trying to declutter my house which
Should simplify my cleaning. Plus according to the minimalist it frees your mind and gives you more energy. So far I think its working. I do feel more energetic with less clutter around.
I would be interested if anyone else has had this similar experience.
So......back to the MWL.
I am sticking to pretty much the same foods everyday.
Always steelcut oatmeal with berries for breakfast
2 nectarines
Coleslaw with veg,bean onion gravy
Potatoes, corn with veg bean onion gravy
Dinner was brown rice with black beans corn ,tomatoes, onion cilantro
With balsamic vinegar and spices.

Ok.....now for the noncompliant. I had almond milk wih chocolate syrup and a few potatoe chips
with my rice black bean dish.

I lost a pound last week..... hope to do the same this week.
Hope everyone had a good week!

Good morning! Have not kept up with my journaling.
I need to get back to it. My weight loss has been going well.
124 this morning which is 7 pounds less than I started back in July. Excited
this morning when I weighed in because I wasn't completely
compliant this past week. I have been walking an average of 4 miles a day.

Love this accountability.....forced to weigh in on Fridays.
Hope everyone is well.
