Second post...
Day 5 . I made a batch of steel cut oats. Used 2 cups raw with 6 cups liquid for 5 minutes.
It cooks up enough for me to eat for 4 days. I used half almond milk in the instant pot
plus added more to the bowl when I eat it. Plan to stop that after the amond milk is used up.
That should happen by tomorrow.

I wake up early and usually eat by 7 after a 2 mile walk. Its now 9:30 and I want more food. Really should drink water.
Instead I had a bowl of coleslaw with vinegar it.

I am satisfied. Think I should do this simple routine forever.
In the past I was not eating this healthy. Looking forward to weigh in on Friday.
Hope I am down, happy healthy eating to everyone. Joanne

My 6th day

Just finished my 2 mile walk.
Wasn't really hungry this morning but ate breakfast anyways.
Had 2 nectarines and my usual oatmeal with fresh blueberries.
Fill full.

Will see how long it takes before I want something else.
Ready with coleslaw and vinegar for my snack.

Also boiled potatoes and made a veg/bean/ mushroom gravy,
That will be my lunch.

Finding the food fills me......look forward to eating but not craving it.

I think this is a good sign...not exciting but filling and healthy.

Just keep at it. It's a learning process and though some people can be at 100% right from the start, I myself am always a work in progress. :D

A good guideline is to remember to focus on your starches, don't skimp on them or you will get hungry. Plus the body really likes them. I try to focus on a starch and veggies for my meals (starch and fruit for breakfast) and then go from there.

Good luck.

Thank you Annette.

Today I ended up with

Oatmeal for breakfast with blueberries and almond milk
I was hungry earlier then I expected so for an early lunch I had my leftover boiled potatoes
with bean /mushroom /gravy. Tastes delicious..and very satisfying.

Later I had both an apple and a banana. Normally I would add peanut butter to
the banana but I didn't give in. :)

For dinner I had a tossed salad ( no dressing)
Then a bowl of vegetable soup with rice. Feel full.
Happy I haven't caved in...considered eating Marys Gone Crackers.with my soup.
But didn't. There excellent but not for MWL.
I hope I don't get derailed....so far so good. I want to see if this way of eating
really works if I STICK TO IT. HEALTHY EATING EVERYONE,

.

Good morning. Day 8

Walked 3 miles. Eating has been going well.

Started to get bored so made some slight changes.
Had coleslaw with a sliced nectarine then my steel cut oats.
Ran out of the almond milk so I used water to thin it out plus frozen
Raspberries. It was too sour so had to add small amount of Stevia
I feel full.....and its 7:40.

I am so hopeful that Friday I will see the scale move down.
It will be motivating This is the first time I
have tried MWL. Have a good day. Will check back tonight.
For me twice a day posting keeps me on track. :)

I was feeling very anxious today about some upcoming
medical test.

I binged. By noon it seems like I had eaten breakfast lunch and dinner.

The food was healthy..I didn't get into cookies, crackers or peanut butter.
So hopefully I haven't derailed any progress. I am eating quite a bit of fruit....but
I have not been tempted by sweets....that is new for me. The starches really do
satisfy.

Hope everyone is doing well! Joanne.

So far today is going well.

I got up this morning early....felt good. Did a 3 mile walk.
Yesterday it seemed like I overate...but I feel like I am making progress
since I binged on healthy food.

Today I had large bowl of steel oats with mixed frozen fruit.
Later went to the market......all the produce looked delicious. I was surprised
I wasn't craving some sweet processed food like usual.

For lunch I made potatoes with the mushroom/bean/vegetable gravy.
Really enjoy that. Still stuff myself. I think I do that so I won't be tempted for
Something else (sweet treat). Later had a bowl of blueberries.

Dinner will be a large green salad with delicious juicy tomatoes along with onion
and garden cucumber. FRIDAY is almost here! Healthy eating!

Same routine today.
Walked 3 miles.
Oatmeal for breakfast with fruit.
Still hungry so ate a lg bowl potatoes with my healthy gravy plus some
Applesauce.
Feel satisfied. Sounds like alot of food but I prefer to eat like a king in the morning
prefer dinner as lightest meal.
Looking forward to stepping on the scale tomorrow.

This first week went well. I only ate several small quantities
of non compliant foods.
I had maybe 10 raisins, 2/3 cup of mango juice.
5 Marys Gone crackers. and almond milk.....until I used it up.
Once I caved to almond milk with Chocolate syryp.

I feel good about my diet this week.

Definitely better than usual. Other than the syrup that
was the only junk food.

I hope tomorrow it shows on the scale.
I keep saying that but I know it will motivate me to keep going. :)

Good luck to everyone on the weekly weigh in. :-)

ok.I did cave in and ate a bowl of soup at 10:30. Was trying to make it until noon. I just seem to want to eat the majority
of calories in the morning. Stayed 95% compliant....i had a total of 3 bowls of the black bean soup/
with rice.

The final bowl I added some additional vegetables. I had riced cauliflower and sweet potatoes
It was frozen.....so very easy to add to the soup. Plan to have alot of frozen vegetables on hand
so I can keep increasing veggies.

I am losing cravings for anything specific. I think I will be able to start
adding more vegetables in place of fruit. At least that is what I will try.

Today I did have a couple of nectarines and an apple. Oh...almost forgot had a couple
of crackers ( that was to satisfy a craving)and 1/2 cup mango juice ( needed to use up).
Felt full and stopped eating by 4.
Journaling helps keep me on track. :)

Sunday morning

3 mile walk
Nectarine
Steel cut oats with PEAS

Yes....I decided I could switch to a vegetable instead of my usual fruit for breakfast.

Tastes fine.......not as yummy as fruit but I am ok with that. I did have the delicious nectarine first.
If I continue to do this maybe it will help with eliminating my sweet tooth. Plus its lower calories
and will cut down on the high number of fruits I have been eating .

Will check back tonight.......need to go to the market. Going to load up on produce. Healthy eating to all!
