Yep, patience and persistence and you will see results. I went 4 days at the same weight and then finally lost a little. Happy to see a downward trend. Good luck and happy eating :)

Still at 192.8, no change for several days now. hmmm...I realize how much my motivation depends on seeing some progress on the scales, when I should be motivated by eating healthy. Yada yada yada. I am late to journaling today, had to get to an appoinment.

Yesterday I made a fast batch of John's favorite beans. So easy and delicious. Today I'll use them to make a tostada on a corn tortilla with a tomato, lettuce, no avocado though. Breakfast was a big bowl of rice, beans, corn and peas. And I am making those darn burgers also! Going out in our watery sunshine for a long walk. Also have berries to eat later, plus steamed spinach.

Carrying on, heart not in it today. :-(

I seem to have built a camp at 192.8, day #6 at this weight. I have been eating more sweet potatoes this past week so I wonder if that's why I haven't lost anymore. So today I will be eating SNAP meal formula per JeffN. I always love this quick, simple, nutritious approach to food. Plus berries for fruit. Celery for snacks. Yesterday I really liked mashed steamed carrots with a potato. Think I'll do that again and add a cooked parsnip to it.

Aug 29, 2019: 193.4
Sept 5, 2019: 192.8
Sept 13, 2019: 192.0

Yay to losing .8 and getting off the 192.8 #. I spent the last six days at 192.8, so I backed away from so many sweet potatoes. Now I see that my 1st goal of getting to 190 is possible. I love this way of eating. I will be doing more of Jeff N's SNAP meals which work for me anyway. For the first time in years, I see that 190 is do-able.

Carry on!

Congratulations on your weight loss! I love to see the numbers go down on the scale. It can change my mood for the whole day. Please report on your experience with JeffN’s SNAP meal plans. I’ve printed them off but have never tried to follow them. They are so simple. I guess sometimes I make something similar. I like his suggestion to make more, then freeze and rotate the meals for another week. Good luck!

I think I might make some SNAP meals from Jeff for next week. Congrats on seeing the scale go down! It will eventually :-D

Yes, I weighed in .8# lighter. I think I was eating too many sweet potatoes. And the SNAP meals are working for me. Surprising how a bowl of rice, peas, corn, beans, lettuce and salsa can be so satisfying and filling.

When I 1st started eating 'this way' years ago, I started with the SNAP meals because it was easy I just make variations of the same things. I made a crock pot of John's favorite white beans. And I have brown rice already cooked. So I just have to add veggies to these things; chopped tomatoes, sometimes steamed broccoli, chopped lettuce, topped with salsa. I always like his version of a stir fry: a can of black beans (rinsed), add half a bag of frozen veggies (my skillet won't hold a full bag), add some potatoes maybe, chopped pepper, etc. Right now I am serving over a bed of chopped lettuce, could do other chopped greens too.

Makes a lot of food and can eat on it all day. Hope this helps.

Yesterday I had a great breakfast of oatmeal with almond milk, hemp hearts and ground flax seed with berries. Then still hungry, I had a bowl of rice, beans and peas. Very filling! And I helped my son paint his house, so got 2 hrs of good exercise. Dinner was just an apple, brown rice, peas and mixed veggies. I was tired and asleep early.

Today is a trip to the theater. I'll roast the potatoes and remaining sweet potatoes. Plus I have spinach that needs to be steamed and eaten. And eat the same thing as yesterday. I think I'll use corn tortillas to make tostada with ingredients.

Simplicity is key for me.

I just roasted potatoes and carrots, so darn good! had them with brown rice and more of John's favorite beans. Later I will steam spinach and if still hungry have some oatmeal. Sunday was a trip to the theater which took hours of travel/theater/travel time. I got too hungry, should have taken a potato with me! or at least an apple. So I had a chocolate chip cookie, only food available. Oddly enough, I really craved potatoes, rice, beans, broccoli. It's what I want to eat now! Fresh corn is around now so I will be getting more to use in some soup.

Jeez, September is flying by. I walked yesterday, not too rainy! Here in the NW, I try to get outside for some 'watery sunshine' as often as possible. Hoping we still get a few weeks of good Fall weather before the slip-slide into rain rain rain.

Scales this morning show 191.8, sooo surprised after Sunday's theater eating problems. Today I will roast more potatoes and carrots because they are so good with veggie chili over them. Carrots are surprisingly filling. I will cook broccoli and finish up the spinach. I also bought some oranges as I don't think I get enough vitamin C.

Yesterday I made a salad at whole foods salad bar, $9.99 a lb. Yikes! That's too expensive so guess I need to prep my own. I like the variety of colors and fibers from the different vegs.

My goodness, September is zooming by. Recorded a .2# weight loss for the week, not much but the good news is I snuck into the 191 range, last seen many years ago. Love this way of eating. My latest bowl includes mashed potatoes, steamed carrots (surprisingly filling), beans, and whatever veggies need to be eaten. So satisfying and tasty. Spent 3 hours in the dental chair yesterday, ugh!! Dental care is so $expensive$. I am lucky I can afford to keep the tooth. Today is rest and recoup. Soft foods required for sore mouth.

I will make the tomato rice soup recipe. And probably the veggie burgers. Maybe buy more watermelon before it disappears from the stores. And why not, make another batch of John's favorite white beans because it couldn't be easier. Roast more potatoes and carrots.

Carry on.

You really sound like you are in a good solid place right now...just rolling along, the plan nicely in hand. Sorry you had to deal with the dental issues, yes it is so expensive (I used to work in a dentist office).

One thing I have not done is make "bowls" yet -- rice bowls, potato bowls, etc. I really should get on the bowl train.

Thanks Annette. The dental visit took me out on Friday. Pain, headache, getting rid of the residue of the drugs, so I rested and took ibuprofen. At least I had food prepped, soup and sweet potatoes.

Yes, I feel good about the MWL plan. I am 95% compliant and getting results. MORE importantly, I feel good. The food is tasty and so darn good. My latest easy and tasty thing is to mix mashed potatoes with steamed carrots (seasoned), corn and peas and black beans. Add salsa. It may look weird but it sure is tasty.
