My jaw and tooth feel better from the marathon dental visit on Thursday, still headachey and sore but I feel better. Today I have to prep food. I make a good lentil bolognese sauce, so will prep that. It's easy: a jar of good marinara sauce, about 1 cup of french green lentils, I add 1-2 tbsp of tomato paste for rich tomato flavor, Italian herbs, maybe half a cup of veggie stock. I may add some diced celery and carrots to it too. Then I serve it over whole wheat pasta.

Also going to make the tomato rice soup which I said I would do yesterday but wasn't up to it. I still need to make some veggie burgers. And buy more carrots! Love them roasted or steamed, surprisingly filling.

Exercise will be 2 hours helping my son paint his house. And of course there's never-ending housework. Who wants to do that?! :D

Today is rest day after 4 hours helping my son paint his house. The physical activity felt good, course I should have quit at 3 hours. So I am sore today. And I liked the reminder of how physical activity can improve one's mood. Today is grocery store day to buy cat food! Work on a painting (striving to get better), the usual MWL eating, a nearly due library book must be read. Have a great day.

I skipped journalling yesterday to finish a painting and do some errands. I cooked a lot yesterday. Just can't beat the easy and tasty John's easy slow cooker beans. Looking forward to my marinara sauce with lentils and whole wheat pasta. And yesterday was a stir fry with all the remaining veggies + beans, over rice. Very good! Nectarines are in season and so yummy. Savoring our remaining nice and mostly sunny days. Looking for a new recipe to try though.

Fall is slipping in here in the NW. Temps will drop 20 degrees over the weekend before climbing back a little bit. Somehow I gained back .5 a lb, so have been focused on eating MWL tight and clean. And am reminded how tasty I find this way of eating. Yesterday I loved a large bowl of potatoes, steamed broccoli, tomatoes, John's easy cooker beans, rice, with salsa. Nectarines and tangerines are very good right now. Today I will roast more potatoes and carrots, prepare rice, enjoy oatmeal with flax seed, hemp hearts, berries and soy milk. I have the lentil marinara sauce to enjoy over whole wheat pasta. I am busy with another painting, darn housework, a book to read, and get in a walk too. Enjoying life.

Busy day for me so I will fuel up first with starches. I was shocked and surprised to see a 2.2# weight loss this morning. My goodness, haven't been in this range for years. Didn't think it was possible to actually lose more than 2-3 pounds. And eat such tasty and filling foods.

Today I take the grandson to school; then do some painting on my son's house as we race the dropping temperature to finish up. It's good exercise for me, IF I don't overdo it! ha

I am enjoying my lentil spaghetti sauce over whole wheat pasta. Need to cook, again! I sure eat a lot. Will make more John's slow cooker beans because I love them. And think it's time for another batch of green split pea soup with celery, potatoes and carrots. More potatoes and roasted carrots, steamed broccoli. Plus 1-2 fruits.

About to say goodbye to September, hope we get more 'fall' than a short 2 weeks. It's chilly and cold today, snow up in the mountains. My well being depends on getting outside as often as I can, even in the gray chilly rainy days, so that's the 1st thing I do this morning. Get out for a walk. Yesterday I prepped foods, so today I have lentil spaghetti sauce and whole wheat pasta to eat, plus steamed broccoli, rice, beans, some fresh salad/greens. Later today I might make the split pea/carrots/celery/potato soup. It's seriously good.
Last weigh-in I hit a low # I haven't seen in years, but then the body took back 2 pounds. I have lost 1 of them. It's just my body getting ready to drop to a new lower number. Patience.

I need to rename my journal. Anyway, I hit a new low # last week, 189, then promptly regained 2#. So now I am trying to eat clean and tight and stay focused on 189 which is a new level I haven't seen in years. Today I am eating 1 corn tortilla tostado (beans, tomatoes, lettuce, salsa), broccoli, a sweet potato covered with the last of the lentil spaghetti sauce, and a bowl of the newly made split pea soup with celery, carrots and potatoes. Probably roast potatoes also. In 2 days I fly to NM for a few days, and eating MWL will be a challenge. I'll be focusing on vegan restaurants, and healthy Mex food.

Hello Fall.
