JAAP AMESZ

Postby Jaap Amesz » Thu Feb 07, 2019 4:15 am

Hi my friend,

My name is Jaap Amesz from The Netherlands. Jeff Nelson recommended this forum to me. I keep my journal concise, since more talk doesn't walk the walk. The goal of this journal is to track my actions, so when I will reach a bottleneck in the future, feedback can be given on the info provided here.

Male, 36, 6'6
Current weight: 425
Maximum weight: 601
Goal: 199

Today:
-no dieting, no exercise (yet lol, prep today, start tomorrow)
-throw out bad foods
-purchase good foods in bulk, prep some frozen meals
-clean my house & do chores in advance, so I have a few days off to focus fully on the start
-prep my gym bag for tomorrow

-Ate badly, I admit.
-Couldn't get into flow, was busy reading links for a few hours given by Jeff Novick
-I admit, I am an addict. I really need a few days of 'hardcore drilling', before getting into flow.
-At least I did swim slowly 3 x 10 = 30 minutes
-Did 6 x 15 = 90 minutes of sauna sitting and read the 3 most important chapters of the MWL book in the sauna; chapter on the diet, sports and implementation. Will read the rest later.

2019-9-2
-It went wrong from the start; Tried to make a veggie soup for breakfast, so I threw a can of soup into my bowl of extra frozen veggies, was the soup spoiled! Goodbye nice frozen veggies as well!
-I moved some furniture around.
-I swam slowly for 10 minutes.
-I did 2 x 30 = 60 minutes of sauna sitting and reading the MVL book in the sauna.
-Ate lentils with veggies.
-Ate bad foods as well, so far no cudo's for me. However, I was a slow starter in the past as well. I need to get into it slowly.

Mosty importantly: Today, I already made a big pan of lentils with mixed veggies for tomorrow, so I cannot screw up my breakfast any more! Then it's easier to get into flow and finally get my first day or real MWL in.

My freezer is breaking down. It isn't working properly. I need to eat all of the foods, in order to let it defrost (72 hours, there is a block of ice in the motor) and reset. I know I shouldn't eat whole weed breads on MWL, though throwing it away, seems a waste. So still no hardcore MWL day, that might take another week or so when I have emptied the freezer. The good news is, that when emptied, I can restock MWL only.

-I did have my lentil+veggie breakfast I made a day earlier. That was a smart move, it's easier, when it's ready, though I had to add to all that WFPB some non-fat little sugar little salt tomato sauce to make it enjoyable.
-2 x 10 minutes slow swimming
-8 x 15 minutes of sauna sitting, and reading 4 more chapters of the MWL book
-2 x 15 minutes of walking slowly
-I lunched with whole weed breads (with nothing on it) in order not to let the bread go spoiled

New plan. My freezer went even worse, so I saved the most expensive veggies in a smaller other freezer. I threw all non-MWL in the bin. Unfortunately, I also had to give up some cheaper veggies. To bad, 50 Euro gone.

Batch cooking can save your life. Take those thawed freezer items and make a huge soup/stew. I love having a batch of beans, rice and soup in my fridge. I make up jars of it when its cooled off so I have jars to grab when I have to be away from home. I batch cook on purpose on Saturdays and Wednesday nights. I bake a whole bag of potatoes. I make rice, beans and a soup or 2. Saturdays I always try to make a batch of salsa, salad dressing and gravy. I can pretty much have a meal in a minute from the stash I've made in my fridge.

I like the sauna sitting between your swimming and walking. Is that a Nordic thing? Sorry about the freezer though, but your solution is perfect...it's an opportunity to clear out the non-MWL foods from your house. You're getting it done!

-My freezer works again!
-I completely read the MWL book.
-I read the updates on the MWL book.
-So I weighed in last week at 425 pounds on my own goofy scale which goes up and down several pounds and then I take the average. I weighed in naked, before breakfast.
-Today I went to a place with a professional scale (after breakfast, with clothes on) and my weight was only 422.2 pounds. So I take this more reliable number from now on, though I can only weigh in when the shop is open. Also I might not get there every week.

This is me today!

This is my weight this morning at 10 o'clock, clothed, after breakfast. (191.5 kilo = 422.2 pounds)
