Microwaveable Rice

Postby Lyndzie » Fri Mar 08, 2019 7:55 pm

Hi all. I’m traveling to stay with relatives for a week and want to ship some shelf-stable oil-free microwaveable rice. I know I will have access to a microwave and mini-fridge. I found Annie Chun’s sticky rice, which is tasty, but costs $2.09 for 7.4 ounces at Target. I would need two per meal for just myself, which is kinda expensive. Any other brand and/or store recommendations?

I sometimes purchase microwave rice from Sam's to have on hand. It takes 90 seconds. Costco carries a different brand but around the same price. They are great for Jeff Novick's bean burgers or a sushi bowl when time is the essence. https://www.samsclub.com/sams/gen-ji-ma ... roduct_1_5

Pure genius, Patty. I had not thought of bulk purchasing (d’oh!) and found multiple options on amazon with free shipping.

[*]What about Minute rice? It is light. Bring a bowl to nuke it in. Just add water.
