Letha, I just started the MWL program about 3 weeks ago, so I hope you don't mind a belated thank-you for compiling the lists of recipes and links. So useful! Now that I'm comfortable with the basics of the plan, it's time to branch out and find some new recipes.

WWDonna, that recipe looks delicious. Garbanzos and cumin...I'm there. :D Today I made the garbanzo curry from the MWL book, and it's quite tasty. Well, actually, it needs salt, but I resisted and added pepper and extra curry powder instead. Time to whip those taste buds into line.

Click on the "headline" Clickable List... it is a hyperlink to the thread. The very first post in the thread is nothing but hyperlinks to McDougall Newsletter recipes.

or click on page 1...and to the first post...

Page 1, post #1 of this thread:

http://drmcdougall.com//forums/viewtopic.php?p=77143#p77143

IS the list, as of that date. As you click on each recipe name it takes you to that newsletter's recipe page with the recipe on it.

Also, if you click this link:

http://drmcdougall.com/pdf/maximum_weight_loss_compatible_recipes_mcdougall_books.pdf

You'll go to a PDF file listing all the MWLP recipes in all the McDougall books, from his early Health-Supporting cookbooks to the Quick and Easy one.

I have tried several of these recipes - great -- my husband is diabetic and we are always on the lookout for good recipes.
Thanks for sharing

This is a fantastic resource. I'm a physician who is collecting selected recipes for my patients who are desperate to deal with their obesity, diabetes, heart disease etc. They're not used to cooking and their taste-buds are poisoned by junk food.

My problem is that these people need recipes that are guaranteed winners; over-the-top crowd-pleasers. They're not used to cooking and if they try even one new recipe that they don't like, it's very discouraging.

(I had the same experience when I first became a vegan - it was very time consuming to try many recipes before I found some I loved).

So I'm looking for recipes that are the best of the bunch. Could be either MWL or non-MWL. There are almost too many recipes listed and I feel like I have to personally test them before I recommend them to patients.

Maybe the McDougalls, or anyone who has tried many of these, can let us know which ones are virtually guaranteed to be successful for people.

If anyone has suggestions - THANKS!! Even just a few recipes that you thought were so delicious that it couldn't fail - even with the people I'm describing. I can be reached directly at joeadamsmd [at] gmail.com or 410-231-3323.

LynnCS wrote:I'm pretty new around here and I went to check the recipe. Yum! Sounds great. It looks like it makes a lot. I know they say to eat all you need, so maybe it's a silly question, but it doesn't say how many servings it makes. Did I answer my own question?

The Quick Yummy Meal:
http://www.drmcdougall.com/misc/2005nl/ ... ecipes.htm

says right on it that it makes 1-2 servings.

Yes, you eat as many servings as you need to make you no longer hungry. If it takes the whole recipe, so be it. My husband and I could easily eat that much each.

That particular recipes looks very much like all of Jeff Novick's SNAP/Fast Food volume 1 recipes. If you liked this one, check out Jeff's stuff both here

I have a question, when a recipe is clicked on it takes you to several other recipes, are those recipes also allowed on the MWL plan? Thanks :)
