Hi everyone!
Does anyone have a recipe for healthy granola?
I've made granola with oats and date paste mixed together and baked in the oven. However. If Im not mistaken, I've read a thread somewhere where Jeff Novick reasoned that date paste could be counted into your daily amounts of sugar recommendations (since date paste is basically pulverized dates with very little or no intact fiber).
I'm wondering if smashed bananas may be a healthy alternative to date paste, or if this would basically be considered another highly processed food counted towards your sugar RDA.
I do love the taste of baked oats, though. I would love to incorporate more of them into my daily regimen.
Cheers! ✌

Instead of mixing the date paste with the oats, why not toast the oats alone. Cut up dates into small pieces and mix with the toasted oats - now your dates are "fruit" instead of being pulverized with no intact fiber).
I enjoy toasted oats too.
